Donated laptops used for pr0n/porn!

Dear lord this cracked me up like hell. Surfing on the net, reading the various newsies and probably just skimming, and I come across this. Suddenly I wasn’t skimming anymore, I was laughing my ass off. This is good stuff *grins*
You give schoolchildren free laptops, which is good and ok and really nice. You give them the intarwebz, which is nice as well, gives them something to do with their laptops. You expect them to surf  X, Y and Z, but no XXX?

I’m just laughing my head off imagining their expressions, of the people responsible for giving them away, when they heard of it: “OH MY GOD! ARE THEY BROWSING pr0n!?” *enter really indignated and shocked/horrified expression* “… but but but… all my grand dreams of a beautiful learning environment enriched by our machines and our internets….” *enter anger* “… filthy little hobbitses!”

Wrong story, but fairyland nonetheless, you get the point. Biology is a matter of interest with all kids, all over the world and all races. Why should Nigerian shoolchildren be different from me and you in that regard? *laughs* Sure sure, not everyone is surfing pr0n all day long, and some does seem to ( which is a hilarious clip made by some WoW players from the Argent Dawn EU server ), there’s a bit of both.

The whole thing is topped by this quote:

“Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials,” NAN said.

Brilliant! “Gone awry”. I can’t stop laughing….

On a similar topic, though not very…. a young man got 10 years in jail for receiving oral sex from his underage girlfriend when he was 17, and she was 15. Sexual abuse they called it, even though it was completely consentual. The law was changed in 2006 to go from a crime to a minor ( I think the word is felony… might not be Oo ) one, but it wasn’t retroactive, which is a part of the fuzz: People want him to go free. The politician that was behind the law is supporting the young man as well, since the intention of the law was to protect children from pedophiles, not harming youngsters having consentual sex.

Though I’m not overly supporting of minors having sex and being all intimate with each other ( I suppose I’m just oldfashioned and want children to maintain their innocense for as long as possible ) I do think that that case is a rather important one in the grand scheme of things. It’ll show kids that there’s legal permission to have sex, something many of them don’t care about at the moment, but some may do, and it might ( or most likely will ) create a trend of increased underage sexual activity. Does the law, and the case, say it’s perfectly legal for those under 16 to have sex? Not at all, but with so many things all you need is to give some rope, and there’s gonna be pulling for more and more.

Then again, I don’t see why the hell the guy’s in jail if it was consentual, that should mean something atleast. Then again… the fact that the article mentions that

Sexscenen ble tatt opp på video av andre.

- “the sex-scene was recorded by others” should be hit by an entirely different law. Like sex in public, indecent exposure, illegal filming… something? Atleast you’d think so, and that makes me curious. Not that I can be arsed to check it out *grins*

I wonder if I can find it on the net, the sex-tape, and if the Nigerian kids might have found it.
It’s fully possible, that’s another part about this story that cracks me up.

You know, I think I heard an episode of Penn Radio while you were still here where they were talking about one of these young people who had been sent to prison for being sexually active with their one or two year younger partner (who at the time was underaged).

    … I miss Penn Radio… =(
