Movies I was eager to watch

Mid-2007 (july I think it was now? Too lazy to find it again) I listed up 8 movies that I was sorely keen on watching. How did it go?

Stardust Poster

Stardust -“I so bloody want to see this movie I am practically, literally, completely bouncing in the chair now when I’m watching the trailers”.
Satisfied? Hell yeah. One of the best movies from 2007, and every bit as amazing as I thought it’d be, and some.

Hitman Poster

Hitman - “Definately not in the league of wannaseeffs as Stardust is, but I’m a big fan of the character. Let’s just say I can’t wait to be disappointed *grins*”

This movie turned out to be one of the major surprises of 2007, atleast the latter half (the one I can remember). We kept expecting cheese and crap all the time. We were pleasantly surprised by the it’s light tone and unassuming feeling. It looked like a movie made to entertain, and it damned well did. Another movie I recommend for it’s entertainment value - which is high.

War Poster

War - “It’s faaaaantastic ( Hot Shots 2 anyone? ;D ). Oh boy, now this is cheese. So much cheese we need to bring out a bulldozer to move it around. If done right it might be huge entertainment though, and that’s all I need. I like both actors, so that’s gonna be a plus.”
It wasn’t the entertainment bomb I had expected, and I think my expectations were a tad too high on the “Whoah!”-factor. Or I’m jaded. Still fun, but not special and oddly enough way too serious.

The Golden Compass Poster

The Golden Compass - “Boys and girls, Ladies and Gentlemen, we have another movie in the league of Stardust. We’re talking big, giddy, and bouncy. Yes, I’m all bouncy and excited about this movie.”
Oh FFS, don’t get me started again….

No End in Sight Poster

NO END IN SIGHT - “It looks cool in caps, and I have no idea where I heard about this movie first, but this movie intrigues me. If done right, with enough credibility and weight, it might even kick a fuss.”
I’ve yet to see this, and I’m ashamed, but from all accounts it’s a strong movie.

Cloverfield Poster

1.18.08 - “SO COOOOL START! .. dum di dum di dum… Enigmatic and secretive. I can’t wait!”
It’s name is Cloverfield now, and it’s not out yet, but so close now. I am even more keen on watching it.

Eagle vs Shark - Poster

Eagle vs Shark - “It looks nuts. What more do you need to know? =D”
It’s on download now, will mention it later.

The Bourne Ultimatum - Poster

The Bourne Ultimatum - “Last, but not the least. Quite the opposite. For some reason this series, it’s story, score and actor is among the most exciting and awesome stuff I’ve seen on the screen for as long as I can tell. Does it contain cheese? I bet it does in truckloads, I’m just too blind to see it. Can I truly explain why I dig this series so much? Maybe… I just love it. Definately the movie I am most eager about…. I mean seriously… wow… O.O “
I watched it three times. It’s everything I hoped for, and some. Seriously. So cool, so fun, so satisfying ending (it looked pretty open).

I’ll jot down the movies I’m eagerly anticipating for 2008 tomorrow or something. Right now I gotta get to the store before 14:00, pack my bathing-stuff, and get to Bergen with something even remotely resembling style, and life.
