It’s not often that I’m pretty pissed off. It’s not often that I’m thuroughly disappointed, and wish alot of ills upon people. This is one of the few cases.
HTC phones and devices, the ones that made my “new” phone, “are supposed to be the most powerful devices on the market. And in theory, they are indeed real powerhouses of mobile technology. There’s a catch though: HTC has neglected to include the necessary drivers needed for the devices to come to their full potential.”
The other day I booted up my dad’s old PDA and installed some stuff on it to see how much better mine performed in comparison, waxing epeen and such, while testing some settings for http://pointui.com. You know what really pisses me off? That old P.O.S. is alot more smooth to use than my phone, apparently because of HTC’s willful neglect. I thought “Hummm… this can’t be right”, and wondered if I should contact some support and ask them what’s up, because for crying out loud, better is better! As usual I put that off, and decide to browse the internet a bit to see if I’ve done something stupid, or there’s some setting that I’m missing. I come across http://www.htcclassaction.org/. They might not stand a chance, but god, I love the initiative.
This doesn’t affect only playback, it affects simple things like scrolling in File Explorer, and many other things. Basically anything regarding display.
What do you know, HTC’s being a bunch of lolling assholes about it, and they’ve got the guts to come out and tell the public it’s not there because they want to milk their next product for all it’s worth, because it’ll be in that one. Oh, they’re not saying that directly, but anyone with an inch of literacy can read between the lines. They’ve got plans, and they refuse to budge on those plans, indirectly saying “Fuck you, idiots” for buying their product.
Just for a response like that it’s going to take quite a lot to make me buy another product of theirs. Selling half-assed products is another minus.
I’m crossing my fingers that something will happen, because this is just blatantly shameful, but I’m not much of a hoping guy.
