I subscribe to a number of dubious feeds to simplify my life, the kind of RSS feeds that tells me when something new and awesome has arrived at my closest tracker of choice. Just today I discovered that one of the latest games (and one of the most interesting) to arrive on the market, also arrived on the closest tracker, in this case Mininova. Zeno Clash (Wiki) is, as you can see by the comment from the developer, developed by a minor indie company that’s perfectly aware of the activity level of the filesharers of the world, and has decided to tug our heart-strings in hope of us loosening our purse-strings.
To be honest, I think it’s a great idea to do it this way. Not only does it serve as a reminder for the everyday filesharer, but they also appeal to consciences in a number of ways. Chances are it’ll work. Well, we can hope.
As for me, we’ll see. I’m gonna try it soonish. It looks awesome, quirky, and weird. If I like it even a little bit the chances are fairly huge that I’ll be buying it just to support them :)
